Ohio University-Main Campus
Our photography program remains strong due to its ability to stay on top of all the newest, modern means of technology, the state-of-the-art facilities in which are provided, and the faculty in which it depends upon. Furthermore, the faculty is made up of a diverse group, all of which encourage a wide array of aesthetic, conceptual and technical points of view that is laid upon the students. The program is intended to assist artistic students to make use of the camera as a tool to express themselves.
Students benefit from an enormous photo department. They have access too more than 11,000 sq. ft. of working space, all of which is located in Seigrfred Hall. Within the two-story complex, are four black and white darkrooms equipped with more than 50 enlargers and 27 new Beseler 23 C's. A Hope color print processing machine and five color darkrooms are included in the color facilities, as well. Digital and image reproduction resources include two large lighting studios, a digital imaging facility with Power Macintoshes, multiple scanners, and a large scale color printer.
