University of Central Florida
The Bachelor of Science degree in the Photography Program is a joint program between Daytona Beach Community College and the University of Central Florida. Students interested in Visual Art and Art History must have a thorough knowledge of the human image both in historical and studio capacity. The Art Department offers courses that utilize images of clothed and unclothed human figures, and in certain studio classes, nude models to assist students build perception.
Prerequisite Courses for Admission:
Completion of A.S. in Photographic Technology from Daytona Beach Community College or an education of equivalence.
Required for Admission:
Students should consult a Photography advisor before selecting this major, and should continue to do so at least once a year thereafter. Upper-division electives, internship credits and course substitutions all must be approved and done by the program Director. The program director must approve all electives on the upper division level credit for an internship, and course substitutions. It is necessary to achieve at least a C average in every upper level course that is required, and also to have an overall grade point average of at least 2.0 or higher.
