The Professional Photography Program at Brooks Institute offers a competitive education enabling its students to succeed in whatever career they desire in the field of photography.
The Professional Photography Program encompasses six concentrations:
- Commercial Photography
- Advertising Photography
- Industrial/Scientific Photography
- Portraiture
- Digital Imaging Photography
- Digital Media Photography
The Commercial Photography major is the most rounded of the concentrations and offers students a level of career flexibility within commercial photography once they graduate.
The Advertising major teaches students how to develop marketable photography including fashion, food, and automotive photography.
The Industrial/Scientific major focuses on collaborative photography to produce visual representations for writers, create visual presentations, and the like.
The Portraiture major represents the most popular and most employable field of photography.
The courses focus on an understanding of the demands of the current market, and developing the overall competency to produce successful photos.
The Digital Imaging major focuses on the software, web development, and multimedia production aspect of photography.
Students work with the latest computer programs, gaining valuable skills for careers in web design, publishing, graphic design, and advertising.
The Digital Media major has been designed for photography careers within digital imaging, multimedia, web page design, and digital post-production for video media.
The major focuses on the acquisition of photography, film, and computer skills and consists of a year each of photography, video and film work, and digital application, forming multi-talented, and therefore highly desirable photographers.
Brooks also offers many specialty courses including undersea photography, food photography, celebrity photography, and architectural photography.
